What is VFM (Value for Money)?

Put simply, Value for Money is about obtaining the maximum benefit for the money available. Decisions about Value for Money are a daily reality in all our lives. We are constantly choosing what to buy, and judging the right balance between quality and cost. Choosing the right driving instructor when learning to drive is no different.
Driving Lessons
Value for Money is not just about the cost of your driving lessons. Taking a lot more lessons at a lower price is going to work out more expensive in the long run... More importantly: How will you get on with your driving instructor? Do you want quantity or quality instruction? Will you receive a full hour tuition for your money? Will you finish each lesson feeling that you have achieved something? Does your instructor have a reputation for being patient and never shouting at pupils? Will you feel ready for your test when the big day arrives? And last but not least, will you be confident enough to drive on your own when you've passed your test?
So many questions that you need to be answered. So what can you do? Ask questions... Ask your friends. Especially the ones that are learning to drive, or have taken their test. Check out the Testimonials on Instructors’ websites (if they have any). Listen to the bad things as well as the good. Then take the plunge. Don’t book too many lessons in advance in case you want to change your Instructor. Don't be shy, if you don't like the instruction you're getting, change your instructor! It’s your money, and it’s up to you to make sure you are getting Value for Money at whatever price you’re paying for your lessons.
